The Morning After The Night Before {Dru/Open} « Thread Started on Aug 11, 2008, 12:13pm »
Eileen made her way to the Great Hall alone that morning for breakfast. It didn't take a genius to work out that Dru and Cali had been out on the town last night. Eileen could always tell with those two, there would always be one or two clues for her to spot. It wasn't a habit Eileen indulged in anywhere near as often as the other two, the alcohol occasionally but never the sex. After all, Eileen was rather fond of fire whiskey. It was on mornings such as these, the mornings after their little excursions, which she would arrive for breakfast alone. She had learnt long ago that trying to get them up before they were good and ready was not something a sensible person who valued all their limbs did.
She sat down quietly at the Slytherin table after navigating the complex tunnels which made up the dungeons. The table was still fairly empty so she had a whole section to herself. A whole section right by a large rack of toast and a pot of apricot jam to be precise. A pale hand reached out to grab a slice of toast and a rather wicked grin spread across Eileen's equally pale face as she spread it thickly with the jam. She could almost feel the day looking up as she took a bite. Then she remembered that no doubt either Cali or Dru, or possibly even both, would have a hangover. Her dull brown eyes scanned the table quickly, pleased to note there was a pot of coffee and another full of tea nearby as well.
As she chewed she realized there was very little in the day ahead which she was looking forward to. It was just another boring day, no doubt with very few challenges or sparks of excitement. Her days had a pattern to them quite often, peppered by the more outlandish actions of Dru and Cali. Eileen was not discontent though, her days passed exactly as she wished them to. She had no desire for the kind of attention some of the Slytherin girls received. She looked up at the rest of the table, noting that it was beginning to fill up now. Her eyes flickered to the main doors and then back to her plate. No doubt they would be turning up soon. She drank a swig of pumpkin juice before turning her full attention back to her food.

Dry throat, heavy head. Dru Rosier turned herself around in her bed, grumpily pulling her pillow over her head as she kicked the sheets of her naked body. It would be quite a sight, seeing Dru lie there, hair all askew, fighting with her blankets. She sighed, it wouldn't work. She was wide awake but wanted nothing more then sleep. Angrily she threw her sheets away and sat up straight in her bed. This was not a good morning. Her eyes opened slowly as she stretched herself and looked at the clock. That late? Well, she could forget about going for a run then. She stood up and walked to her vanity with the talking mirror, taking her hairbrush out and began to comb her hair.
"you look tired, missy.", Druella just shot the mirror a nasty grimace, at least she tried to, because that very moment she was grimacing, an overly large yawn left her mouth. With a spell of fast make-up and hair, she looked in the mirror, deciding that it had to do, something she normally never did, but well, she was having a hang-over, so who could blame her. Ducking into her clothes after she had washed herself, Druella Rosier went to the Great Hall.
Though it was rather quite filled at the time she entered, it felt as if one hundred peacocks where tsjirping at the same time, as if one hundred hammers were bonking upon her head all at once. She stepped towards the Slyterin table, being as collected as possible as she saw Eileen. She sat down and poured herself a cup of strong coffee, closing her eyes with a shudder as the dark beverage settled in on her stomach.
"Remind me never to drink again.", she said as she grabbed a bit of toast with nothing on it, best way to get over a hang-over... Plus, she reckoned that if she took something like beacon and eggs at this very moment, it would all come out again.."And why wasn't I in bed with Eddie? I told Callie to drop me off there.", she wined as she took a bite of the toast. Hang-overs and Dru, didn't mix well...

Eileen barely glanced up from her plateful of toast as Dru came and sat down next to her. There were very few other people who would actually come and sit down next her. Eileen wasn't exactly an outcast from Slytherin but she certainly was not a popular one. The question 'Why do they hang out with her?' was one which always seemed to follow her. It wasn't something she minded hugely though - it was just something she accepted was part of her life. In fact, it was the way she wanted her life to be contrary to the belief of others. Her general solitude apart from a very few people was how she liked things to be.
"You say that almost every time this happens but we all know you'll just end up doing it again," stated Eileen calmly as she picked up another slice to place on her plate. She turned her head to look at her friend and grinned. Eileen had dealt with Dru in this state before and it no longer bothered her at all if her friend's words were harsher than normal or anything else out of the ordinary. Even Eileen, on the one time she had actually got drunk enough to have a hangover, acted with harsh words so she knew what Dru was going through.
Eileen couldn't quite help herself but as she listened to Druella's moaning she had to laugh. A smile stayed on her face as she spoke again. "She was probably either too drunk to remember or off having fun with someone else." She took another bite out of her toast, watching Dru carefully as she did so. She did not look too happy about her current hang over but that was unavoidable. This kind of thing was bound to have some kind of repercussion. "Next time you go out, give me a heads up and I'll drag you there at the end of the evening." Her words were joking; evident from the tone of her voice, but her face was a solemn picture.

Dru just let the piece of toast fell out of her hands. She lay her had upon her arms, trying to get the loud noise and light out of her head. Why was everybody so enthusiastic at breakfast? Couldn't they just let her be in silence? Couldn't they just bug off? Rubbing her hand through her eye, she sat up straight again, quickly putting her hand in front of her eyes to stifle a large yawn. She would so not get drunk anymore.
Still, of course, Eileen's words were true. She sad that every time she was drunk.. Well, not while she was drunk, because Merlin knows that Dru always had a great time when she was drunk... but the morning afters that was what killed her. They were filled with unwanted attention and geaky kids who needed to shut up. The toast came to her mouth again, and finally some kind of taste came back to Dru, so she took the jam and smeared the toast full with the strawberryflavoured jam.
Taking a bite, some of it got upon her cheeks, taking the back of her arm, she cleaned it up a little though. Now, for those who have thought Dru to always be gracious.. they were very wrong indeed. Truth was that this girl always looked better than others, even when she had a hangover, but her good manners seemed to fade away whenever she was drunk or.. as right now.. having a hangover
"Yes, please do that Eileen.. Just carry me to Eddie, or carry Eddie to my bed.. Doesn't matter really." Well, it didn't matter to her in which bed she slept, as long as it was with Eddie or some other hot bloke, but it might matter to her roommates though.. Still, Dru didn't really take account of those things. How many nights had she spent with a guy in her bed? Probably a lot more than she had spend without.. Sometimes surely to the frustration of her dormmates...
"And remind me that I tell Calli to take better care of me next time we're drunk together. I so told her that she had to bring me to Eddie's.. Oh, but.. perhaps she's just buggered of with those guys I send out... ", she pondered for a few seconds, trying to remember what had happened last night, but truth was, Dru only remember the handsome young guy she had tricked into going out of the Hog's Head.
It had been a funny thing though, she had told him she was interested in him, the guy obviously bought it and after Dru told him she and Calli would like him to go to the Dark Alley, he went out... Dru of course, just stayed in the Hog's Head, drinking Firewhiskey until she couldn't stand on her feet anymore, never having the intention to go after the bloke...

"I could probably manage to carry you," said Eileen, "but Eddie? He must be a foot and a bit taller than me!" Her voice was incredulous, and far too cheerful for her rather downturned expression. "I'd be crushed!" she joked, before going on to add in a more serious tone "and I have feeling that Eddie would object rather violently unless he was completely hammered." After this unusually long stream of words from Eileen, she fell into her more normal silence. She reached across the table and grabbed some more juice. All this input into the conversation from herself was making her thirsty.
She looked back at Dru though as her words started to trail off. Her dark eyebrows shot up her forehead as she looked at her. It wasn't out of the ordinary for either Dru or Cali not to be precisely certain about what had happened but Eileen was intrigued by part of Dru's sentence. Again, it wasn't unusual for Dru to become entangled with some other men whilst she was out but to send for some and then not go? That didn't sound like the normal routine. Eileen's raised eyebrows were a silent prodding for Dru to explain, as was the inquisitive expression on her face. She spread some more toast with jam as she waited patiently. Eileen could wait for hours if need be, patience was a great talent of hers. After a while though she would often decide that it would be quicker and easier to get the same information from another source. With this upcoming story of Dru's though, a story which sounded as though it was going to turn into a rather complex one, she would be quite content to wait a long time for the full story from the one involved. And anyway, if it was some plan of Dru and Cali's, no doubt they would be the only ones who fully understood it.

Dru managed to pull a small smile as Eileen told her that she'd be crushed by Eddie. It was true though, Eddie was quite tall and well-muscled, he could really crush almost everybody even if it wasn't his intention. Heck, whenever they were at it, even Dru sometimes had a hard time to push him off.. She blamed Quidditch, although she adored every single muscle in that man of hers.
"You're probably right,", she said a little more cheerful as she took another bite of her toast. "Plus if he's that drunk.. he'll probably molest you when you aren't looking.", Dru added with a smirk, though of course, Eddie would never cheat on her, or at least that was what she believed.. but truth had to be told, Eddie was.. a little overexcited at times when he was drunk.. Not that Dru minded that the tiniest bit.
Seeing the look upon Eileen's face, Dru grinned, okay, she would tell her friend, of course she needed to know the entire history. "Well', she started with a small sigh.. "I needed to get something off my chest" - she'd tell her about her mother later, now the only thing that needed to be told was how she let the young good-looking bloke down, well as far as she knew..Since she had been way to drunk to remember everything properly -. "So, Calls and I were drinking in the Hog's head.. And you know how it gets out there, all these filthy wizards staring at you.. There was one who was worth looking at though... So, I went over to him, and well.. I suggested we two would get outside, and if he wanted I would bring Calli along.." she couldn't hide her smirk anymore, even though her head was still pounding heavily. "You should have seen the look on his face. He went out, straight away to the deserted Alley.. and well, I guess he waited a long time.. And I just went back to Callie... laughing about the guy, because he believed it...", she finished smugly.
"Then of course, Calli had to try the same.. so she lowered her decolte.. what do you expect of her anyway.. and went to this other bloke- wh wasn't bad looking either..and well. She told him the same story.. sending him to the same place.. I only hope that those guys had their fun together..."

Eileen laughed slightly, trying to keep the noise down so as not to induce any hangover related wrath. The mere notion of Eddie and her, well, it was simply ridiculous. And that was even taking into account him being in an extremely drunk state. It seemed ludicrous to her - she was the plain one, the sullen and bitter one. Not pretty in any way, or even with any qualities which really made her stand out. Just how Eileen like things to be.
She listened intently to Dru's story, almost as if it was some great fable or an intricate political web not a simple plot created to amuse a couple of teenage girls. It was quite typical of the two of them really. The urge to roll her eyes was not one she could resist. A dainty smile settled on her lips though as she listened, despite the grim look in her eyes. Eileen had witnessed similar things in the past and they never ceased to amuse her. Sure, she was the one sitting on the sidelines with watchful eyes and a glass of firewhiskey but she still enjoyed it.
"Well, seeing as neither of them came back looking for you," said Eileen, a mischievous glint in her eyes, "I would say they probably did." It would be interesting to find out what exactly had happened to the two men. No doubt it would be amusing but Eileen couldn’t quite bring herself to care enough about their fate to show genuine interest. If people were taken in my Dru and Cali’s games, and most people did actually believe their stories, they deserved whatever they had coming to them in her mind. No doubt those men had thought they were on top of the world, even before the girls had approached them. Being taken down a peg or two would cause nobody any harm. Just a fair amount amusement for everyone else.

Dru's eyes immediately showed a dreamy, far-off look as she heard Eileen claim that the two guys probably hit it of together... "You think?", she asked in that same voice while slowly sipping her drink. Now, if she had known that, she wouldn't have stayed to drink Firewhiskey with Callidora. Heck, if she had known that, she'd have gone straight after them, joining in their festivities...
She could see it all in front of her eyes, the two guys, ripping each other's shirts off, naked chests, crushing tongues.... humping, carresing.... and then...
Dru cursed under her breath. Her imagination had been running wild again, but then, all of a sudden a bloody owl dropped a letter right into her hands. She looked at Eileen for a few seconds, sighed and then got back to the letter.... Her mother's handwriting... The young Slytherin swallowed and looked back at Eileen. "It's my mother... I saw her yesterday..", she said while looking down with a slight aggravation.. The thought of the two men and her hang over had immediately passed as she opened the letter, curious of what the bitch, sorry witch had to say..
Druella Catherina,
I hope you are well in your knew year of Hogwarts. Your father is doing well, and he wishes you the best of luck this year. As a little reminder of home, we would like to give you the tiny present secluded in this envelope,
love,
mother
Opening the envelope, Dru finally saw the little bracelet that had the Rosier crest upon it. "I haven't told you yet..", she said as she placed the locket back into it's original place. "I saw my mother yesterday. With a way younger man... It's probably something to bribe me off... It's the reason I went out yesterday"
So little words, telling so much of the life of Druella Rosier.. Yes, she may be rich and pure, but her mother was the waist of oxygen.
